Miles To Go Before I Sleep

Shalom! I’m Yochai Greenfeld, multi hyphenated artist based in New York, and creator of Haus of Midrash - a weekly Torah recap in Drag, hosted by Abbi G'zunt. Credits include Nachum in “Fiddler on The Roof” (Broadway Tour), Mila in “3rd Gen” (Off-Broadway), Shaya in “Imported Bridegroom” (Off-Broadway), Snoopy in “Charlie Brown Christmas” (National Tour) Blanche in "Golden Gays" (International Tour), Gregor Samsa in "Metamorphosis - the Frantz Kafka Musical" (Workshop), and Boaz* in “Borders” (The Tank).

My playwright debut, It Gets Bitter, premiered at the Queer Jewish Arts Festival in Baltimore MD during the summer of 2022.

I began my artistic career as a company dancer in Israel, eventually moving towards Theater, musicals, screen and Drag. My schooling journey thus far includes the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, vocal coaches Eidan Lipper and Kathrine Witchen, The Studio acting school, and Heidi Marshal's acting for camera intensives.

Fellowships & Grants:

LABA - A Lab for Jewish Culture (2019), where I cultivated my original work, 'It Gets Bitter', which  debut in the Queer Jewish Arts Festival in 2022.

Gesher Foundation - A Screenwriters Cohort (2020), where I co- developed my screenplay - L’Chaim. 

Hanoch Levin Incubator - A Playwright Fellowship (2023), where I developed the stage adaptation of L’Chaim.

Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media -   The 2nd “Unapologetically Jewish” Content Creators Competition (2025), where “Open Haus” - my mini web-series about the creation of “Haus of Midrash” was a finalist.    

I hold a B.A in Psychology from the Open University and spent two years studying Lacanian Psychoanalysis. I have dedicated two and a half years to Judaic studies at a Yeshivah.
